<a href="#comment-4354" rel="nofollow">@Wifey </a>
My semesters at South Campus are something that I am keeping in the back of my mind, aware they're coming but still trying to figure out how they'll play out. There are public transport options, including a bus between the two campuses, but then it becomes a matter of how much time will this take?

That said, I don't know that when this car goes boom I wanna get into another one. We'll have to see.

I didn't tally the city parking permit because I made a choice to start counting from Jan 1, and we bought those still in 09. They will show up whenever I compare Nov 09 to Nov 10, though.

You also have to keep in mind that the other (main) FIU campus is way down in Westchester and less accessible by bus. Since the nursing school is down there, it's clear you will be spending increasingly more time out there. So a car might come in handy.
Unless you manage to squeeze all your classes into 1 or 2 days and just make those your "long days".

Also, remember the car also includes the yearly Miami beach resident parking permit. Not a huge expense but part of the tally.
