Prepping for Gen Con

August 14th, 2007 No comments

I am running around like a headless chicken trying to get everything done before leaving for Gen Con tomorrow. I even wanted to record a special episode of the podcast talking about it, but I just haven’t had the chance (yes, I will admit to a certain amount of time-wasting, but even so). I am super psyched!

I’ll try to come back later and write some more about it. I can tell you right now that packing for Gen Con has broken every single law of packing I have learned and lived by in the last 6 years; every single one. But, it is necessary if I want to be ready at the show (and eat, since I have to take all my meals with me).

More later.

The Voice of the People

July 16th, 2007 1 comment

I got this from a blog I frequently read, and it struck me deep. This MSNBC anchorman, Keith Olbermann, brilliantly wraps up the frustration of a large part of America into a 10-minute accusation worthy of historical preservation. Watch it – I know it’s long, but watch it. Share it. And pray that things change for the better soon.

The Everything Test

July 16th, 2007 No comments

Because one can never take too many memes.

The Everything Test

There are many different types of tests on the internet today. Personality tests, purity tests, stereotype tests, political tests. But now, there is one test to rule them all.

Traditionally, online tests would ask certain questions about your musical tastes or clothing for a stereotype, your experiences for a purity test, or deep questions for a personality test. We’re turning that upside down – all the questions affect all the results, and we’ve got some innovative results too! Enjoy :-)

Personality
You are more logical than emotional, more concerned about others than concerned about self, more religious than atheist, more loner than dependent, more lazy than workaholic, more traditional than rebel, more artistic mind than engineering mind, more idealist than cynical, more leader than follower, and more extroverted than introverted. As for specific personality traits, you are religious (93%), romantic (71%), intellectual (56%).
Stereotypes
Punk Rock 80%
Young Professional 70%
College Student 64%

Life Experience
Sex 27%
Substances 16%
Travel 32%
Politics
Your political views would best be described as Liberal, whom you agree with around 57% of the time.
  Socioeconomic
Your attitude toward life best associates you with Lower Middle Class. You make more than 55% of those who have taken this test, and 58% less than the U.S. average.
If your life was a movie, it would be rated PG-13.
By the way, your hottness rank is 55%, hotter than 29% of other test takers.

A Very Quick Explanation

July 13th, 2007 1 comment

I’m not gonna get into it more than this, but this is what’s been going on:

My mom was diagnosed with Stage 2 Endomitrioid Adenocarcinoma – endomitrioid cancer.

We’re working on getting her treated. I just got back from Puerto Rico and chances are I might have to go back soon. I’ll have a more detailed password-protected update later on.
