I have a HUGE headache today.
So I figured I would hijack my own blog today and talk about my “job”, freelance writer. To specify, I write games, roleplaying games, based on Dungeons & Dragons.
Currently it is going so-so. I have 2 articles scheduled to be published in Campaign Magazine. I also have an adventure scenario to be published by MonkeyGod Enterprises, called Sword of Tears. Aside from that, I have a long article I sent to a company (but have yet to hear what they plan to do with it). Of course, and like a gazillion little things in various stages, but nothing else concrete, at least not now.
That blows. The main problem is trying to get some contracted work is hard. So I decided to do something about it. Instead of just waiting for assignments, I am going to create my own.
I have decided to start writing a small sourcebook to be self-published in electronic format (pdf). There is a growing number of pdf publishers and consumers, so I see little or nothing to lose. That way I will be still writing, which is what I like to do, and be in full control. The writing credit is very much valid (for purposes of my resume), and I have no one to wait on but myself.
I’ll keep placing updates here as I go along.
On website news: I just found all the surviving drawings I ever made. I am going to scan some of them and put them up on my site as well. Coming soon.
