This is not exactly how I would have liked to spend 3 weeks in PR, but G-d has different plans.
Briefly: my Mom was hospitalized, had surgery to deal with 2 hernias, and was readmitted with some pulmonary complications. She’s doing better now, thank G-d. I’ll be her till March 3.
My internet connection is spotty (thank heavens for Starbucks’ invasion of the island) so don’t expect too much during this time.
My Mom came out of surgery at around 5:00 pm and all was well. She was taken to a recovery area, then moved to another recovery area, and I assume into a room at some point tonight, but I’ll find out tomorrow. Still, she’s doing fine, and the hysterectomy was complete and successful. Tomorrow I hope to talk to her.
And confirmed, I will be flying to Puerto Rico on Sunday.
A quick update: I spoke to my Mom on Friday and she told me that a spot had opened up in the schedule at the hospital, and she was being moved up from her original surgery date of October 2, to today, Monday, Sept. 10.
I don’t know at what time it will happen, but hopefully, sometime today, my Mom will have her surgery. With G-d’s favor and help, that will be the end of this cancer scare and she will have a long and healthy life, amen.
I’ll keep you posted. It is 99% likely I will be going to Puerto Rico next week to see her.
I’m not gonna get into it more than this, but this is what’s been going on:
My mom was diagnosed with Stage 2 Endomitrioid Adenocarcinoma – endomitrioid cancer.
We’re working on getting her treated. I just got back from Puerto Rico and chances are I might have to go back soon. I’ll have a more detailed password-protected update later on.
